Professor Yiannis Levendis, a mechanical engineering professor at Northeastern University, wants to find out if stainless steel mesh can protect buildings from forest fires. 

I worked alongside 4 other mechanical engineering students to design a device that could safely and repeatedly blow embers through a viewing tube while fixing a stainless steel mesh in place to test how the mesh influences the path of the embers.
